Ecology

Balancing progress and preservation

At Treelink, our deep-rooted commitment to ecological sustainability and preservation runs through everything we do. Before tree removal or clearing works on any site, our ecologists conduct a thorough pre-clearance survey and report to document the findings on site. These assessments and reports encompass a range of essential elements, which may include, but are not limited to:

  • Identifying locations of habitat trees, microhabitats (e.g hollow bearing logs) and other habitat features
  • Identifying the location of any threatened ecological communities and threatened flora
  • Identifying the presence and location of any Priority Weeds
  • Determining the presence or evidence of the presence (including fresh scats, scratches and remains of prey) of fauna, including threatened species
  • Identifying the presence of any threatened flora and fauna species
  • Marking all hollow-bearing trees, potential hollow-bearing trees, logs, nest boxes and all other fauna-containing habitat trees, including trees with nests, dreys and termite mounds likely to be occupied by fauna, at least seven days prior to the commencement of clearing in a manner which identifies and demarcates the trees
  • Demarcating, photographing and mapping all habitat features

When do you need a Pre-Clearing Survey and Report?

Pre-Clearing Surveys and Reports are vital in identifying significant ecological factors at the site. These reports ensure that when we remove trees or clear vegetation, we employ the proper methods to minimise any adverse impact on the native environment, guaranteeing responsible and environmentally sensitive practices.

These surveys and reports also serve as crucial milestones on many projects. Our clients can rest assured knowing we have a network of ecologists to ensure a speedy turnaround, keeping the project on track and running smoothly.

Other ecological services we provide are:

  • Ecological Clearing Supervision and Post Clearing Reports
  • Nest Box Installation
  • Habitat Creation
  • Weed eradication
