The extensive development and removal of mature trees within urban environments has resulted in the loss of crucial habitats for various bird and arboreal animal species. These habitats, often found within hollow-bearing trees, serve as invaluable nesting and roosting sites for a wide array of wildlife, which depend on them for shelter, protection and reproduction.

Any decline in these hollows’ availability and natural diversity can have significant consequences. It may reduce the diversity and abundance of hollow-dependent animal species and, in some dire cases, even lead to their local extinction. Treelink has experience in the preservation and planting of trees with the potential to develop hollows and reduce hollow-bearing trees for habitat creation to assist in sustaining urban and natural ecosystems and conserving wildlife populations.
